“Conclave” (2024) is a mystery thriller directed by Edward Berger, adapted from Robert Harris’s 2016 novel. Cardinal Thomas Lawrence is tasked with overseeing the conclave, but his leadership is challenged when Archbishop Benitez arrives unexpectedly, claiming to have been secretly made a cardinal by the late Pope. As the conclave progresses, Lawrence uncovers hidden agendas and scandals among the cardinals, leading to a suspenseful and politically charged narrative.
