EODL is a unique and vibrant celebration of talent and theatrical creativity that brings together nine local community theatre groups to rotating locations each year. This Festival is a unique platform for emerging and established playwrights, directors, and actors from Eastern Ontario to showcase their work. It is also an event that supports Perth’s local businesses by bringing in visitors from eight other Ontario communities.
About the weekend
The festival opens on the evening of Friday Nov 1st. Our Perth town crier Brent McLaren will be kicking off the festivities. The host MC for the weekend is Paul Joyce. Three theatre companies will be performing their one-act plays on Friday night. On Saturday there are both afternoon and evening performances for the remaining six companies and their one act plays. After each series of performances there will be a public adjudication by a professional adjudicator. The event closes on Sunday with an awards brunch being held at the Chrystal Palace, where the adjudicator will name the annual winners and award trophies in numerous categories.
