You’ve got a script. Now what?

This workshop provides both novice and experienced directors with a variety of tools and tips to consider about all of the aspects of the director’s role in community theatre.

Beginning with a lecture/discussion format participants will review fundamentals and have the opportunity to ask questions and to share experiences.

The afternoon involves participants working hands-on with an assigned script, to develop a “vision” for the piece, and to build the necessary elements —i.e. sketches, stage plans, schedules, exercises, rehearsal strategies — to take that piece from page to stage but with an aim of nurturing your company members and building ensemble spirit.

Participants should leave the workshop with a “how to” kit of strategies for taking on the role of director with an amateur cast in a community theatre setting.

Workshop will take place at the Studio Theatre 63 Gore St E in downtown Perth, beginning at 9 am Sun Feb 22
