STAGE MANAGERS WORKSHOP

Outline:
What to expect in a SM workshop.
- How to make a concise working script that supports rehearsals and the calling of the show.
- How to call a show and maintain its integrity. This is an art form so we will talk about the artistry behind Stage Management.
- Running a tight Cue to Cue. This can be the most stressful time for actors and crew. We will unpack the how and why and make sure you’re setup for success!
Instructor Bio:
Josh Kemp is an Ottawa based director, stage manager, and actor who has been working and volunteering around the city for the past 20 years. Most recently you may have seen his efforts at the Ottawa Little Theatre with A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley, Miracle on 34th Street, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Pardon Me, Prime Minister. He’s also been supporting Toto Too artistically for the last 15 years, and directed the Canadian Premier of Lawrence Aronovitch’s Galatea, Avenue Q, BENT, Bare the Pop Opera, and upcoming this Christmas: A Sherlock Christmas Carol at OLT.”
He has worked professionally as a Stage Manager with The Broken English Theatre Company, Evolution Theatre, GCTC, Cellar Door Productions, Dancing on Water Theatre Company, and numerous others others over the last 20 years.
