Kim Fournier’s Art: from September

Kim Fournier’s Art

Artist Statement

“As a landscape painter, I strive to capture the light, mood, colour and character of those natural places that have made a lasting impression on me. I love playing with colour and values to create contrasts and compelling compositions.”

About the Artist

Kim Fournier moved to the Perth area three years ago and is thrilled to share her artwork with the local community. Her family has deep roots here and she’s filled with wonderful memories of visiting Perth over the years. As a result, she feels very connected to the town and the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside.

Kim is an avid cyclist and cross-country skier who brings a camera to capture the scenery along the way. These photographs guide her landscape compositions and inspire the mood and lighting reflected in her artwork.

To grow as an artist, Kim has continued to seek out opportunities to learn from various acclaimed Canadian landscape artists. Most recently she has expanded her portfolio to include acrylic artworks, as well as continuing to work with watercolours. In addition to her studio work, Kim is excited to broaden her talent and experience to paint on location “plein air”.

Being active in the outdoors energizes her both physically and spiritually. It is this positive energy that inspires her to create the colourful and light-filled beauty that you will find in all of her paintings.

In this exhibit, you will find a selection of paintings which depict the beauty of Lanark County and other Canadian landscapes Also, you can browse a selection of Kim’s unframed watercolours which come packaged with an acid-free mat & backing and are ready to insert into your choice of a standard size frame.
