Online Drama Studio with Carolee Mason
Studio Theatre Perth is thrilled with the response for our first ever Online Drama Studio with renowned director Carolee Mason! So thrilled, we are doing it again!

Carolee approached Studio Theatre Perth with the idea of supporting theatre folk who may be feeling the pangs of drama withdrawal during this COVID pandemic. She hoped to try a new way to stimulate the intellectual and creative “buzz” of the rehearsal process while simultaneously providing a space for social interaction that many of us are so desperately craving.
This new virtual world collaboration is not a lecture series, or a chat, but an active and engaging 2 hours a week of drama play brought to you a facilitator at the forefront of “collective creation” – the Canadian theatre specialty now practised around the world! Carolee has developed drama curriculum, presented workshops across North America and Europe, directed and adjudicated plays throughout her career, and has authored both curriculum materials and a text book that all addressed strategies for creative collaboration.
The Online Drama Studio utilizes a Zoom platform to promote interactive group and breakout room sessions. Through the course, you will develop a variety of collaborative and creative skills that will support their future work in theatre and other arts projects. You will explore the creative possibilities of online connection, practice techniques for self-expression, build a repertoire of collaborative strategies, engage in playful exploration through drama, develop flexible thinking through Process Drama, Monologues, and Verbatim Theatre, connect with a community of arts enthusiasts, and especially, have a fun-filled time doing it.
