“Shepherds” (French title: “Bergers”) is a 2024 Canadian-French film directed by Sophie Deraspe. The story follows Mathyas Lefebure (Félix-Antoine Duval), a Montréal copywriter who, after a health scare, abandons his urban life to become a sheep herder in the French Alps. Despite his lack of experience, Mathyas is determined to embrace this pastoral lifestyle. His journey is further enriched when Élise (Solène Rigot), a civil servant inspired by his tales, joins him. Together, they face the challenges of shepherding, accompanied by a border collie and a flock of 800 sheep.
