Frequently Asked Questions

Are the performers paid?
No. Professionals and amateurs alike volunteer their time at Studio Theatre Perth. Everyone from actors, directors, designers. costumes, set construction, lighting, sound, make-up,backstage crew and Front of House personnel volunteer their time on each production. An estimated 50,000 volunteer hours are donated each season by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Do you have hearing assist devices?
Yes. These devices are available free of charge and available in the upper lobby next to the Snack Bar.

How do I purchase the artwork?
The Studio Gallery displays art during each production. Should you wish to purchase a painting, you may contact the artist or purchase your choice from the snack bar volunteer; only cash or cheque are accepted .

Where are the exits?
There are two exits:

  1. Down the snack bar lobby stairs to the front doors.
  2. Exit by the stairs left of the stage (when facing the stage) which take you directly out onto Colbourne Street, at the side of the theatre.

As a season pass holder, can I exchange my tickets for another night?
Yes. As a season pass holder, you have all your tickets for each play ahead of time and can attend any performance you wish. There is no need to contact the ticket office.

Where are the washrooms located?
There are two washrooms located in the lower lobby on either side of the box office. A third washroom is located in the upper outer lobby area, at the top of the stairs.

What happens if there is an emergency?
Our Front of House staff and many of our volunteers are certified in first aid and CPR. If a member of your party isn’t feeling well, notify our staff in the lobby and they will assist you.

Should there be an emergency that would require the evacuation of the theatre, we always have ample staff on duty, familiar with emergency procedures, who will direct the evacuation in an orderly and quiet manner.
